- Abstract
This case report describes a twenty-seven-year-old male who presented with a mycotic aneurysm of the right femoral profunda artery (FPA) appearing in the course of active infectious endocarditis (Staphyloccus aureus). The aneurysm, 6 x 4 cm at the origin of the FPA, exerted growing pressure on the superficial femoral artery, causing its complete compression by the end of the third week following onset of symptoms. After resection of the mycotic aneurysm and use of an interpolated reversed saphenous vein graft, the patient recovered uneventfully and was found in good condition on a five-year follow-up.
