A literary criticism of the story "The Dam Shall Not Be Built" from Nandhini Oza's book "Whither Justice: Stories of Women in Prison" is presented. Topics discussed include the displacement of tribal people as a result of the Sardar Sarovar dam project in India, the use of allegory to reflect the destruction of natural resources, and the theme of ecofeminism in Oza's writing.
