- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the changes in avifaunal abundance in a wintering and migration location at Padilla Bay in Puget Sound, Washington from 1966-2007. One of the main foraging guilds of marine birds at the bay are ducks that consume mainly invertebrates. For the study, researchers used five surveys initiatives that traced the abundance of birds in Puget Sound. Researchers found that the combined density of every marine bird in the bay dropped between 1978-1979 and 2003-2006.
