- Abstract
The article discusses sexuality and reformist vision for penitentiary and reformatory inmates with regards to same-sex desires. Topics include historians of sexuality have explored the use of sodomy laws by American jurisdictions to criminalize the same-sex sexual activities of young or immigrant men; use of the sodomy law to prosecute men who engaged in sex with other men, with young girls or animals; and sending of people convicted of sodomy to the penitentiary.
