- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. legal doctrine of standing in relation to a proposed challenge to the federal government's disposal of nuclear waste at a repository in Yucca Mountain, Nevada. A historical overview of nuclear energy in the U.S. is also provided, along with information on the environmental impact of the disposal of hazardous waste. The American standing doctrine is examined in relation to the separation of powers principle and administrative government agencies.
