- Abstract
The article examines the dietary, oral and systemic health implications of sugar consumption and discusses public policy considerations regarding the matter. Topics discussed include sugar consumption as modifiable risk factor for non-communicable diseases, and 2004 Canadian Community Health Survey on sugar consumption. Also mentioned are public health approaches involving collaboration among oral health advocates and general health counterparts to educate Canadians on healthy eating behaviour.
