- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 13-year-old boy with poorly controlled type 1 diabetes (T1D) that was admitted to the emergency department (ED) because of left ear pain and left facial weakness. Topics covered include the differential diagnosis of facial nerve palsy, how the clinical presentation of rhabdomyosarcoma of the head and neck varied depending on location, and how children with suspected rhabdomyosarcoma should be referred to a pediatric oncologist.
