- Abstract
Vagal paragangliomas are rare tumours of the head and neck. Due to their location and rich vasculature they often cause diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties. Despite the alternatives in radiotherapy, surgical resection followed by embolisation of vascular nutrients is still the standard in such, proceedings. In our work we present a case of vagal chemodectoma which was treated with repeated surgical vascular obliteration and ultimately removed with the staple resection of X nerve, with good compensation of swallowing and voice function.
