- Abstract
The article highlights the political legacy for fiscal management of the outgoing Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. It notes that the province's average annual economic growth has been underperformed as compared to other Canadian provinces since he assumed to office in 2003. It states that his poor performance is rooted in his inability to control government spending and fiscal policy. It states that the province has recorded deficits totaling $54.2 billion leading to the increase of net debt.
