The article offers the author's views on the examination of old microscope slides as it becomes less central to modern biology. It focuses on the book plates from H. J. Arnott which were hand printed in 1970s with the slide in perfect condition kept in a wooden box. The author has made some works on his yukka seedling slides with advancements, views and additional understanding on how commissural veins develop in three dimensions.
