- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the "East Texas Historical Journal," the periodical associated with the East Texas Historical Association. Emphasis is given to the development of the journal under the leadership of association president and editor C. K. Chamberlain. The development of an advisory board for the periodical and the journal's early funding by Stephen F. Austin State College are explained, along with the printing of the journal. The author, who also served as editor, also explains his own editorial policy. The journal's commitment to African American history is also detailed.
