- Authors
Heyneman, Stephen P.
- Abstract
The article discusses the influence of higher education on corruption and social cohesion through a study of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in Kyrgystan, the Tbilisi State University (TSU) in Georgia and the East Kazakhstan State University (EKSU). The study analyzed common areas of university tension, such as academic freedom, equity participation and academic honesty. Findings suggest that the important area wherein universities can influence social cohesion in their countries is the manner by which they address education corruption.
