- Title
US market for nonwovens up to 2009.
- Abstract
This article focuses on a new study released by the market research organization Freedonia Group Inc. that analyzed the nonwovens industry in the U.S., as of May 2006. Demand for nonwoven fabrics is projected to increase four percent per year to $5.1 billion in 2009, driven by expansion in key markets such as filtration, construction, wipes and electronics. Spunbond nonwovens will remain the dominant product, accounting for nearly 50 percent of total volume in 2009. Airlaid nonwovens will post the fastest growth in both volume and value, fueled by increased use in wipes and hygiene products, as well as higher prices compared to the 1999 to 2004 period.
