- Abstract
This research article tackles the concept of intercultural intelligence in translation based on a case study, that is the translation of García Lorca's play Bodas de sangre (Blood wedding) from Spanish to French. This article aims to analyze the cultural references present in Lorca's play (source text) and the way in which they have been translated into the French version Noces de sang (target text). The article further proposes a definition of "intercultural intelligence" in a broad sense and in relation to translation studies, redefines the concept of cultural reference in translation studies, categorizes the cultural references of the source text, and examines the translation process in which the translators recreated the cultural references of the source text in the target text.
