- Abstract
The article reflects on the issues regarding the use of synthetic biology by scientist to deliver benefits to society, as of May 2014. Topics include the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on the impact of synthetic biology on biodiversity, the publication of a position statement on antimicrobial-drug resistance by the Global Network of Science Academies (IAP) and the recognition of genetically modified organisms under the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
