The article offers information on the tiny satellite Firefly, built mostly by undergraduates in the U.S. and mentions that the satellite was launched in November 2013 that provides information related to terrestrial gamma-ray flashes. It states that the Firefly is part of a growing band of mini satellites known as CubeSats and informs that CubeSats are used for variety of purposes including the detection of electromagnetic waves for earthquakes and monitoring of bacterial proteins in space.
