- Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between digital literacy and digital addiction. The study group of the research consists of 200 active licensed hockey players, 118 women and 82 men. Digital literacy scale, digital addiction scale and personal information form were used to collect research data. In addition to descriptive statistics, Tukey test and One Way-Anova analyzes were applied. Correlation and regression analyzes are included in the relational model. Research findings; it has been found that the digital literacy levels of hockey athletes are at an intermediate level and the digital addiction levels are at a low level, and the levels of digital literacy and digital addiction differ significantly according to gender and year of sports year variables. There is a positive and weak correlation between cognitive, which is the sub-dimension of the digital literacy scale, and social media addiction, which is the sub-dimension of the digital addiction scale. As a result of research this study, it can be stated that digital literacy does not have a significant effect on digital addiction. In order to prevent or reduce digital addiction, it can be recommended to direct individuals to sports activities.
