- Abstract
This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, examines the risk factors and outcomes for colonic ischemia after abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. The study, conducted at a single center, included 52 patients who underwent repair between February 2018 and February 2021. The incidence of postoperative ischemic colitis was 7.69%, with a high 30-day mortality rate of 75%. Factors such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, COPD, and chronic kidney disease were identified as patient factors that increased the risk of colonic ischemia. The study suggests that routine postoperative coloscopy should be considered for high-risk groups.
