- Abstract
This article presents information on several research papers related to the field of dermatological surgery and oncology. The paper titled "Cutaneous Malignant Neoplasms in Patients with Renal Transplants," A.K. Gupta, C.J. Cardella, H.F. Haberman, is a retrospective study of 523 white renal transplant patients from Toronto, Canada. The purpose of the investigation was to confirm that there was an increased incidence of skin cancer in this population. The article on "Immunohistologic Patterns of Congenital Nevocellular Nevi," by B.J. Nickoloff, R. Walton, K. Pregerson-Rodan, deals with 29 patients with small congenital nevi. Several biopsies were done in 10 of these patients to see if there was an evolutionary change in the histology as the patient aged. The investigators concentrated on the involvement of the adnexa in the midreticular dermis and deeper by nevomelanocytes.
