- Abstract
The article presents updates related to the abandonment of the merit salary schedules for the teachers in Lynchburg, Virginia. For least than forty years school district administrator's in Lynchburg adopted the merit type salary schedule. However, most of the educators were against the salary schedule and they filed request for the discontinuance of the schedule. The author stresses that unequal rating was the main reason of the objection.
