Genomic Research Advances Pancreatic Cancer's Early Detection and Treatment.

- Abstract
The article reports on a study which found four types of genomic rearrangement in pancreatic cancer samples. Results indicate that about one quarter of cases, with one particular mutation, should be susceptible to DNA-damaging drugs, such as platinum-based therapeutics and PARP [poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase] inhibitors. The researchers recommended individualizing treatment based on a patient's genomic mutations.
