- Abstract
This paper presents a framework for program assessment and a case study in assessment for a university clothing and textile program in family and consumer sciences. Assessment activities and the process implemented by the Textile and Apparel Studies (TAS) major at Western Michigan University are explained. The process adopts the International Textile and Apparel Association meta-goals as a framework for assessing the TAS curriculum and student learning outcomes. Examples of how assessment results and actions are used to improve program quality are discussed.
