- Abstract
This article presents an examination into the literary purpose of the Priestly History segments of the Hexateuch, particularly as seen through the narrative of Abraham in the book of Genesis. The author asserts that the Abrahamic story was crafted as a religious example of life for the returning Jews to Judah after the Babylonian captivity in 539 B.C.E., citing and discussing several elements of his migration.
