- Abstract
The floral study of Udeshwar/Chhapli River gorge, southern Aravalli hill ranges in Rajsamand district, Rajasthan, India in 2020 resulted in documenting 79 species of vascular plants belonging to 65 genera from 39 families. Among these were 72.2% Dicots, 20.3% Monocots and 7.5% Pteridophytes. Ecologically, the gorge provided microclimatic conditions with high regime of moisture round the year which supported luxuriant growth of the plants. Biological spectrum of the study area revealed phanerophytes as the most dominating life-form (49.3%) in a desert environment. The habitat is endowed with glorious green appearance at the vicinity of the dried region which supports eco-tourism.
