The article analyzes the language and imagery found within the peritext of fat-positive young adult literature (YAL). It traces the way ideologies of fatness and fatphobia are circulating and evolving within the peritextual feature. It explores how language and imagery on book covers of YAL featuring fat protagonists position and frame characters and themes and the assumed reader of the text.
