The article provides information on the desire of France for interdependence from foreign military treaties. President Charles de Gaulle has withdrawn France from the integrated military structure of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in 1966. To improve the defense capabilities of France in Western Europe, it has increased its military potential, both on nuclear and conventional systems.
