- Abstract
The article presents a study which accounts the synthesis and of 2-amino-3-hydroxynaphthazarin and its transformation to spinazarin, a natural echinoderm pigment. It mentions that 3% of Chloroquinone and 87% of the target 2-amino-3-hydroxynaphthazarin are isolated by preparative thin-layer chromatography from hydrochloric acid acidified sodium salt precipitate. Quinones structures were also confirmed through nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectra systems.
