- Abstract
In Bulgaria, there are about 800 kinds of mineral water, which makes the state with the most holly diversity in the world. According to the chemical composition, water is suitable for the treatment and prophylaxis of various diseases, but it is also not superfluous for any healthy person who just needs to relax. The SPA program is based on four components, which have an impact on the mental and physical condition: Physical activity - The movement ensures health and strength, while fresh air and clean environment improve the stomach; Feeding – first the Feeding should be balanced. The taste, consistency, fragrance and freshness of the ingredients contribute to the pleasure that the person experiences from the food. SPA kitchen is based on natural foods, vitamins and supplements, prepared to conserve natural ingredients, vitamins and aroma; Relaxed mind - The energy of the body is radiated through relaxation and meditation; Face & Body - natural products that are used for face and body procedures improve the inner state and visions and restore the connection to nature. The goal of this article is to consider the potential for development of this alternative type of tourism in Bulgaria. For this purpose, the following research tasks were solved: - The concept of "spa" and "wellness" tourism are defined; - The specific characteristics of this alternative types of tourism are considered; - The opportunities for their development in Bulgaria are dedicated. In conclusion, is exposed the fact that our country has more than 600 hydrothermal springs with all kinds of mineral water, which is existing in the nature, which turns Bulgaria into a state, suitable for resting and strengthening the healthy all the year.
