- Abstract
The article discusses the doctrine of prior restraint in light of the U.S. Supreme Court case Knox v. Service Employees International Union Local 1000 and its beginning in English Common Law. Topics discussed include development of the doctrine in First Amendment of the Constitution and the Supreme Court's jurisprudence, compelling freedom of speech of public employees by union dues, and constitutionality of opt-out requirement of union political speech.
