- Abstract
Nabi who is the greatest poet in 17th century has also very strong prose as well as poetry. He has ornate but strong writing style in his letters that included in his Münşeat. These letters have full of ironical statements and jokes, they also have serious and homorous types. Nabi wrote letters according to topic and person by using different types. He generally used sentences in a respectful and serious statement to dignitaries and some friends as a traditional construction style, sometimes he wrote in a humorous style to familiars when he wanted to explain a topic with portrayal. The difficult statement lacerating and ridiculing style is seen among Nabi's sentences that filled with imagery, complex with ironical statements and jokes. The letter written for thanking to Rami Pasha who sent a horse to Nabi for a present is an exactly kind of example of humorous style. He portrayed the horse as a lover and wrote exaggeratively its characteristics here. In this essay, different humorous examples are chosen and given from Münşeat, the full letter is presented with content summary.
