- Title
MALI: Military Coup.
- Abstract
The article discusses a military coup in Mali headed by Captain Amadou Sanogo over the government's poor response to the Touareg rebellion. The events that led to the coup started on March 21, 2012 at the Kati military camp in Bamako where Defence Minister General Sadio failed to address the grievances of the rank-and-file soldiers. Capt. Sanogo claimed that he acted to prevent a national security crisis since the government was giving the arms and ammunition needed to fight the rebels.
