This article intends to analyze the worldwide Free Hugs campaign, which has been turned from individual action in Australia, 2001, into urban mobilization since 2003, with flash mobs invented in New York thereon acted in global scale. Since then, explore these symbolic changing dynamics within the process of emphatically offering free hugs since the concept of gift by Mauss, following the historical condition of the contemporaneous development of capitalism. In this viral diffusion of ideas through cyberspace, that allows showing how cities have become knots of production and reproduction of information, there has been chosen, as an example, the Free Hugs campaign in Cuiabá, in the borders of Pantanal in Mato Grosso, in its power of social mobilization and as a figuration of this process of changes through the fluxes of globalization.
