The article discusses the application of echocardiography in non-invasive assessment of hemodynamics. One-dimensional echocardiography is utilized in the evaluation of left ventricular dimensions, wall thickness, and contraction. Two-dimensional echocardiography allows imaging the systolic ventricular wall thickening through which one can assess global and regional function. The global systolic function's assessment is based on changes in ventricular size and volume.
