- Abstract
The present work aims to describe a process of teaching and learning of Physics mediated by simulations based on STEM education. The research was carried out on a group of undergraduate mathematics students who were studying the discipline of electricity and magnetism. The assembly of the electrical circuits was carried out in a virtual laboratory in distance learning mode with the help of the Thinkercad software. The STEM educational approach served to promote the development of essential skills for the 21st century that are: critical thinking, collaborative work, creativity and innovation, problem solving. We believe that the use of simulations in virtual electricity laboratories contributes to the development of essential skills for the 21st century from STEM education.
