- Abstract
This work focuses on problematical situations and statements on basic Kinematics and Dynamics, presented to incoming students in engineering careers at the Facultad Regional Santa Fe - UTN. The discussion of a statement involves understanding it, and also if it is correct. This requires students to reveal preconcepts and concepts in basic physics, after attending an introductory course in physics. A study between the responses and scientifically correct concepts was analyzed. The sample involved 187 students from middle schools from public and private management, from Santa Fe city and surrounding areas, which answered the questionnaire. The evaluation was performed the first day of classes without anticipating them. The analysis of the responses identified important weaknesses that require a review of the teaching strategies used in the learning of basic concepts in physics.
