The article offers the author's insights on the need for labor or trade unions to raise minimum wages and improve labor standards for workers in the U.S. low-wage industries. It discusses some unions, such as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), AFSCME, and American Federation of Teachers (AFT), which continued to spend on organizing campaigns to organize home and child care workers or independent providers.
