- Title
On top of the world -- Skyscraping glass & steel bay windows offer incredible view.
- Abstract
The article features the ledge, a series of glass bays that extends from the building's 103rd floor of the Skydeck of Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois. It offers information on the initial concept for the glass observation bays by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM), the original architecture firm. It states that the design engineering firm Halcrow Yolles alters the original plan for the building, whereby it removed all the structural steel around the perimeter of the enclosure.
