Abstract
The article presents information on a method for analyzing contaminants developed at the Organic Chemistry Laboratory of ETH. Involving a stream of nitrogen blown from a nozzle and a modified mass spectrometer, the system can detect traces of explosives on skin in a matter of seconds, as well as other substances such as nicotine and coffee.
