- Abstract
The article offers information on the attributes, causes and treatment of dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) of patients. The said ailment is characterized by abnormal vascular connections in the walls of dural sinus and its adjacent cortical vein, resulting to intracranial artriovenous lesions and other diseases in the brain and cranial nerves. Results of studies show that DAVF is associated by trauma, surgery, Osler Weber Rendue disease, pregnancy and infection. Moreover, DAVF can be treated with surgical resection, transcatheter embolization, venous clipping, radiation therapy or combination of these methods.
