- Abstract
Acadia is a region situated in the Eastern part of Canada, where English is the dominant language and French a minority language. In numerous past publications, Annette Boudreau and other scholars have already shown that French-speaking Acadian feel very different from other French speakers in Canada. Indeed, Annette Boudreau was born in Acadia, grew up as an Acadian speaking like an Acadian, then lived in France and has become a renowned sociolinguist among French-speaking scholars around the globe.
