- Abstract
Geotechnical maps of aptitude to urbanization are essential tools for urban planning and are designed to support urbanization and urban consolidation projects of the municipalities in more appropriate places, thus avoiding the occupation of hazard areas that present some kind of risk. The methodology used in this work uses the concept of progressive detailing and consists of two phases with 8 different work steps. The first phase consisted of the compilation of preexisting data, the preparation of analytical maps, the conceptual model of the area and the preparation of the susceptibility map to geodynamic phenomena (shallow mass movements, floods and erosion processes), used to restrict the area for areas that did not present high susceptibility. In the second phase, photointerpretation was performed, physiographic compartmentalization followed by field surveys (mapping and Guelph permeameter infiltration tests) that were used to update the conceptual model for an observational model. In the end, a geotechnical map was elaborated integrating the photointerpreted units with the information of the observational model elaborated, whose units were interpreted for the elaboration of the map of aptitude to urbanization. The Geotechnical Map of Aptitude to Urbanization elaborated was subdivided into three main classes (high, medium and low to non-existent), which were subdivided according to the restrictions and aptitudes of the lands, totaling seven units. For each unit, the geotechnical characteristics, the occurrence of geodynamic phenomena and the recommendations for the occupation are presented.
