- Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of nifedipine combined with labetalol on earlyonset preeclampsia, and its effects on serum leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), apelin, and oxidative stress indexes. A total of 98 patients with early-onset preeclampsia were randomly divided into nifedipine and nifedipine+labetalol groups, with 49 patients in each group. On the basis of magnesium sulfate treatment, the nifedipine group was orally given nifedipine, and the nifedipine+labetalol group was orally given nifedipine and labetalol. After one week of treatment, the total effective rate in the nifedipine+labetalol group was 89.80%, which was significantly higher than 73.47% in the nifedipine group (P < 0.05). Compared with the nifedipine group, in the nifedipine+labetalol group the blood pressure and 24-h urinary protein level were significantly decreased (P < 0.05), the serum LIF level was significantly increased (P < 0.05), the serum apelin level was significantly decreased (P < 0.05), the serum superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase levels were significantly increased (P < 0.05), and the serum malondialdehyde level was significantly decreased (P < 0.05). In conclusion, for the treatment of early-onset preeclampsia, nifedipine combined with labetalol can enhance the efficacy by further increasing the LIF level, decreasing the apelin level, and resisting the oxidative stress in the body.
