- Abstract
The article provides a discussion about the scientific discovery that relates to Eastern Caribbean Area. It notes that herpetologist Dr. Blair Hedges has announced that the Barbados threadsnake was the smallest in the world among the thread snakes of Martinique and St. Lucia, having the scientific name Leptotyphlops carlae. The Barbadians reacted to the announcement of Hedges because they already knew the snake and that it was the smallest in the world. It also states that Hedges has identified another small snake that is common to the Indonesian area which is the flowerpot blindsnake or Ramphotyphlops braminus.
