- Abstract
The article presents a case study of artist Sonny Assu's use of woollen blankets in his artwork. Particular focus is given to his representation of the movements of woollen blankets from Great Britain to North America as part of the fur trade, as well as to his personal experiences with woollen blankets. Topics discussed include blankets associated with the Hudson's Bay Trading Company and Assu's use of symbolism and material culture.
