- Title
THE EMERGING AMERICAN POLICE STATE: THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE POLICE, BUT HIGHER UP.
- Authors
Nelson, William E.
- Abstract
The author argues that concern with reforming the police will not fully prevent the emergence of American police state or reduce the misuse of power by law enforcement agencies. Topics discussed include the author's positive experience with police officers, behavior of prosecutors and judges, and the Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Bureau as a paradigmatic example of an emerging American police state.
