- Title
Pilot badger culls to go ahead in England.
- Abstract
The article reports on the two pilot badger culls, introduced by Great Britain Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), to take place in England in 2012. It says that the pilot badger culls aim to test the safety, efficacy, and humaneness of controlled shooting as a culling method and an approach for bovine tuberculosis (TB). Moreover, culling will help to reduce the number of infected badgers and will have a beneficial impact on the spread of TB and infection to cattle.
