- Abstract
The article discusses the risk factors that are related with Johne's disease test status in dairy herds in Ireland. It defines Johne's disease as an acute granulomatous enteritis of ruminants due to the Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP). It reports on the increasing cases of the disease in Ireland based on the data reported to the Irish Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (DAFF) veterinary laboratory services in 1932-2002.
