- Title
Welsh TB eradication order prepares the ground for a targeted badger cull.
- Abstract
The article reports on the legislation of the tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Order (2009) in Wales. It is expected that the order will make it possible culling and vaccination of badgers as part of a comprehensive strategy to extinguish bovine TB in the country. Minister for Rural Affairs Ellin Jones says the legislation did not mean the start of a badger cull. Jones expects that its cost to the taxpayer may reach 80 million pounds by 2014 if TB eradication in cattle is not taken.
