Surgical removal of an aural sarcoid in a donkey using ultrasonic shears.
- Authors
McCluskie, L. K.; Tremaine, W. H.
- Abstract
The article reports on the study that described the clinical features of an aural sarcoid and its surgical removal using ultrasonic shears in a donkey. It found that high frequency ultrasound produces a thinner layer of charred tissue at the cut surface with less collateral thermal tissue damage. It also revealed that ultrasonic shears simultaneously cuts and coagulate supported and unsupported tissues in a single step.
