- Abstract
In this article, the author informs about the new method adopted by the Canadian Blood Services to process whole blood into its components by buffy coat (BC) preparation method. He tells that earlier, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) method was used for this purpuse. BC method is deployed to promote whole blood derived platelet concentrates (WBPCs) production. He further shares that whole blood components are prepared at room temperature in the BC method.
